The Beatles at the Serpentine, Hyde Park May 18th 1967

It was fifty years ago today…

The day before the press party for the release of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the Beatles had a photo session in Hyde Park. The photographer was  Marvin Lichtner from Time Magazine.

It’s a portrait of the Beatles relaxing on a bench at the Hyde Park in London. The picture is especially appealing due to the gentleman reading the newspaper in the center of the famous sitters.

The backstage pictures are probably by Mal Evans, while the colour photograps are from one or more fans.
