On June 23rd 1966, the Beatles flew from London Airport to Munich for a three-city tour of West Germany. That was called ‘Bravo-Beatles-Blitztournee. Bravo magazine was an icon in post war Germany
The Beatles arrived in Munich on Friday, June 24th to play two concerts in one day in the permanent venue known as Circus Krone, then the tour stopped in Essen and Hamburg. They were dreading their return to Hamburg.

“Hallo liebe Bravo-Freunde, Hier spricht George Harrison. Wir Beatles haben uns alle sehr gefreut, dass ihr uns zur beliebtesten Liedgruppe gewaehlt habt. Wir sind sehr stolz auf unseren Bravo-Otto und dass wir in Deutschland so viele Freunde haben. Besonders, weil wir haben so viele schoene Erinnerungen an “good old Germany.” John, Paul und Ringo haben mich gebeten, euch in ihrem Namen zu sagen: Thank you very very much, von ganzem Herzen, dankeschoen.
